Facilities of the Library is available.These includes :

• Automated Library: The College Library automated using SOUL 2.0 F.E (Integrated Library management software ILMS) developed by the INFLIBNET.
• Bar code technology assisted Automated circulating system.
• Wi-Fi enabled Library.
• Electronic Surveillance system (CCTV): There is surveillance system to monitor the petty thief of books or unauthorized issue of books or any kind of theft in the Library.
• Special Borrowing facilities for poor Students
• Reference service
• Drinking Water facility.

Library Services

• OPAC (online public access catalogue) : The library has the provision of OPAC(using SOUL2.0)
• Automated circulation system with Bar-code facility: Basically, it includes Circulation, issue /return of Library resources.
• Register for Library membership.
• Reading Room services for Students and Teacher the Library has reading room facilities for students and separate reading corner for Teachers.
• Reference and information service: Librarian and Library Staff assistance and the users are using library and its resources.
• Information literacy Programme: The Librarian conducts Library orientation programme for newly admitted students in the beginning of each academic year to make aware about library rrules and regulations, library resources, facilities and services.
• E – Resources (N-LIST INFLIBNET) E-Books and Journals.
• User Feedback System : The users may submit feedback /Suggestion to the librarian and same may be filled up and dropped in feedback

Library Rules

Library hours

• 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM on all working days except on Sunday and other holidays as per academic calendar.
• The library remains open during summer and winter vacation.

Library Membership

• Allbonafide members of the college shall be allowed admission in the library. The bonafide members include (i) Regular student of the college (ii) Regular Teacher & Employees (Both permanent & Contractual)
• All bonafide members above Shall fill up the Library membership Form.
• Renewal of the membership: The admitted Students of the college have to Renew their library membership every year with updated information.
• The Alumni on prior permission of the librarian (From 3.00 P.M to 4.30 P.M.)
• The citizens of the nearby places on prior permission of the librarian (From 3.00 P.M to 4.30 P.M.)

Use of Library

• All kinds of personal belongings are supposed to be kept in the property counter at the entrance.
• All the members/visitors must sign a register specially provided for recording the library attendance.

Use of Library Books

• The loss of Library Books must be brought to the notice of librarian in written form immediately.
• The loss or damage of books borrowed by a member in his/her custody: the borrower shall be liable to replace the book or pay the cost of the same.

Procedure for issuing and returning book

• For borrowing a book the borrower shall deposit the library card against which the book shall be issued.
• Every borrower should return the library books after 10 Days. After returning collect your own Library card.
• Library card will be tenable for one year only and shall be non-transferable. For the next Academic session the card has to be renewed.
• The loss of Library card must be brought to the notice of Librarian in written form immediately. After verification of the record, A duplicate card can be issued. Duplicate Library card shall be issued on payment of Rs.20 (Twenty) only.
• Any misuse of the Library card may lead to cancellation or privilege enjoyed by the member.

Over due fine
Library members should return/renew the books issued to them within stipulated time frame. FAILING to which a fine may be imposed on them @Rs.1.00 will be charged per day. If a student fails to return the book within stipulated time of 10 days.

Library Clearance Certificate

• A Library clearance certificate may be issued to those students who returning books before the Commencement of Examinations.
• Library clearance certificate is must for employees whenever he/she leaves/transfers/resigns/retires from service.

Condition on loan

The following categories of documents shall not be issued out of the Library.
• Books Treated as References by the Library.
• Rare Books.
• Journals/Magazines, Bulletins, Reports.
• Newspaper etc.

Code of conduct in the library

• Using the Library and the borrowing books from the Library is privilege given to a member. Any infringement of the Library Rules will render a liable to cancellation of membership.
• The Librarian reserves the right to suspend any member found misbehaving, abusing the Library staff or behaving in an indecent manner.

Library Advisory Committee The Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College Library formed the Library committee with an equal representation by the faculty members. The name of Library committee is Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College Library Advisory committee. The role and functions of the committee is development of the Library and Library services. Library committee convene meeting twice per year and additional meeting, if required and record the minutes of meeting for the same.
